Imagine Rotary
This year our theme is, Imagine Rotary. What does that mean? In the world of Rotary International President Jennifer Jones, “Imagine, a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.”
What does that mean to us at the Beavercreek Rotary Club? It means we need to remember every day that we are a service club and a club of action. We are now in our 50th year and it is important we remember our roots by giving back to our community that has given so much to us.
Thus, this year more than ever our focus needs to be on community. Community needs to manifest in how we engage with one another, how we reach out to other members of our community, and in giving our time to support meaningful causes that support the citizens, businesses, and environment of Beavercreek.
Service is a major component of what it means to be a Rotarian but giving is as well. Rotary has a program called, “Every Rotarian, Every Year” which aims to have every Rotarian donate $25 a year to the Annual Fund. That works out to less than 50 cents per week. It is my deepest hope that every member of our club will help us meet 100% EREY. Members who donate $100 or more in a year are considered Sustaining Members and I would like to see us have at least 5 members who have not previously been a Sustaining Member become one. Lastly, Rotarians who donate a minimum of $1,000 a year join the Paul Harris Society, our entire district only has a few dozen PHS members, and our club should aim to add another one to the list this year.
Club Goals:
· All members of the club bring at least one guest to a club meeting during the Rotary Year
· 100% of members participate in a volunteer project
· 5,000 combined volunteer hours in the Rotary year
· At least 1 member attend and finish Rotary Leadership Institute
· At least 2 members attend the District conference
· At least 3 members attend District training
· Annual fund contributions of $5,000
· Achieve 100% Every Rotarian Every Year
· Have 5 additional club members being “Sustaining Members”
· Have one new member join the Paul Harris Society
· Completely redesign our website to make it modern and mobile friendly
